Mercedes ML55 AMG MPG: Fact Vs. Fiction

What would an e or s get on a similar run though? My dads e320cdi does 40mpg almost however he drives it. The epa figures for the ml55 are 14/18 mpg city/highway. The ml430's is 15/19 mpg.
